Description
The first stone of the monument to the Marquis of Comillas, built in the Alameda of the same name, was laid on October 9, 1919, thanks to the support of a popular subscription and was attended by Spanish and American. It was inaugurated on October 12, 1922, Columbus Day, attending this solemn act SAR the Infante of Spain Don Carlos de Borbon, who held the representation of HM. the King ; HE. Mr. Don Tomas Montejo, Minister of Public Instruction, on behalf of the Government; Cadiz Mayor Don Francisco Clotet y Miranda and other local authorities, both civilian and military.
